A[void] is Built

This body of work dissects the carefully designed structure and political nature of spaces through the physical manipulation and redaction of architectural and design magazines. Using both collage and décollage, the work (re)presents visual cues of interiors, architectural passageways, and empty spaces as manipulated and defamiliarized structures. Through this work, I question how architecture is intentionally designed for certain people and consequently designed to keep others out. Additionally, I explore the way in which we are conditioned to learn our place and to navigate space in society.
